B2 FIRST FOR SCHOOLS SPEAKING TEST

The B2 First Speaking test is designed to assess the oral proficiency of candidates at a B2 level (upper-intermediate). It comprises four distinct parts, each testing different aspects of spoken English in various contexts:

B2 Speaking Part 1

This introductory part involves a conversation between the examiner and the candidates. Candidates are asked personal questions about familiar topics like their hobbies, daily routines, and interests.

B2 Speaking Part 2

In this part, candidates are given two photographs and asked to compare them. They need to speak for about a minute, focusing on comparing both pictures and answering a question about them. Then, the other candidate is asked a follow-up question.

B2 Speaking Part 3

In this part, candidates are presented with a situation and some written prompts, and they need to discuss the options and come to a decision together. It tests candidates’ ability to engage in a discussion, express opinions, agree or disagree, and negotiate.

B2 Speaking Part 4

The final part extends the discussion from Part 3. The examiner asks candidates questions related to the topic discussed in Part 3. This part evaluates the candidates' ability to express and justify opinions, agree or disagree with their partner, and engage in a more in-depth discussion on the topic.
